The LIFE of BRIAN?…… No I REALLY was just a very naughty boy. Then God got hold of me. WOW! what a ride it has been with more to come. Like riding the highway, you never know what is around the next corner till you lean into it. Sometimes there is nothing for miles (or K’s for you young ones), then around others there is bad bumpy dirt with tight twists and ya hang on for the ride ahead. Well that’s how its been for the last 32 years of my Christian walk.

One thing about walking with God is that it has never been boring, I have seen the good & the bad and have sat under some great ministers of the Gospel, and some not so good. I have seen lives built and lives SHAKEN by well meaning church leaders. I have seen some do mighty things and receive no reward, and seen others do absolutely nothing and receive high praise for somebody else’s hard work. I got to a place were I wondered if there were any real Christians left out there that had been able to find God through all the smoke and mirrors and hold on to there salvation.

I have served on church boards, been in leadership in many areas including: assisting the Pastor, serving as Pastor, leading men’s groups, home group leadership and working as a church employee.

Maybe because I was saved from much I expected more of those in leadership. I got to a place where I just said “God I am sick of leaders ego trips, the don’t question me I am Gods’ chosen one and I can do no wrong attitudes”. I said “God not again, I have had enough, I am just going to take a back seat, I am sick of the falseness of those who should know better”. I decided to just lower my expectations as I couldn’t handle it any more, it is so hard to take when you have been full on for Jesus.

After a year I thought that maybe God had nothing more for me, and if there is nothing, then he may as well take me home. That’s when I was introduced to Bikers For Christ. Talk about seeing what’s around the corner. I had found a great bunch of blokes who love God, been through many trials, seen many of the things I have seen, been kicked when down, but STILL LOVE GOD because they know how much Jesus has saved them from. Many of us feel like square pegs in the “round” Christian church holes. We fit, but not that well, we see things others don’t, we know when things are not “just right” because we have seen the other side, and don’t want it. We wear our patch in public with pride. It shows that those who wear it are a witness for Christ.

There is no mistaking who we are, or what we stand for.

The world is watching, and Christians are sometimes the only Bible people will read. Bikers for Christ has given me a new found boldness for Christ. We can make a difference because we are different. The world and the church are watching us, our family and friends, our work mates, our bosses, the neighbors. The mission we have decided to accept is to bring Honour and Glory to the great ” I AM “ the almighty GOD, Jesus our Saviour .

There are many others out there who have lost there way in this ONE SIZE FITS ALL church mentality. They need to know there is a place they fit, so wear your patch with pride because without CHRIST we are nothing.

One of the things I have learned over the years in ministry is “being kept accountable”. Every time over the years whenever I have seen a leader who has nobody over or along side to keep them accountable, they fall into the trap of “ I “ , I am the only one who can do it , it’s my way or the highway, I said it so therefore it is right. These leaders will surround themselves with yes people so they are never questioned and this always leads to “ PRIDE “ and as the bible says pride always comes before a fall, not sometimes but ALWAYS. For this reason I have an accountability team who will and do ask questions and make suggestions. They have built a relationship with each other and myself. I have an accountability to our National Elder, Mario Grech and to the founding international Elder Pastor Fred Z. This ministry is 22 years old in the USA and is 8 years old in Australia. It is not about numbers, it is about SERVING and being a team. There is no “ I “ in team.

ANZAC Day Commemorations

BFC Members were privileged to be able to take part in an ANZAC march held at Bundamba in Queensland. The march was followed with a commemorative service and gunfire breakfast supplied by the Bundamba Salvation Army. This was our first march as a Motorcycle Ministry supporting the ANZACS but will not be our last……………WE WILL REMEMBER THEM!

Dedication & Family Day In Ipswich QLD

Sunday 22nd April 2012 was a BFC Family Day. These days are planned regularly throughout the year with the main focus for the day being Family. Invitations are extended to any and all to come and spend the day with BFC members.

We started the day with coffee at Rabbits’ and then saddled up for the ride to Centro Church Ipswich where BFC member Timbo and his wife Rachel were to celebrate the dedication back to God of their beautiful daughter Jazmin!

Following the dedication we again hit the road, this time to Queens Park Ipswich to spend time together with families and friends while munching out and taking in the views while watching the kids have a ball on the rides & equipment.

A great day was had by all!

Queensland Members Visit Sydney

New Years 2012 saw Queensland BFC members visit Sydney for a catch up with their members.

A great time of fellowship and mutual blessing was had by all. Various rides were undertaken over the 6 day stay with visits to the western regions, an old family winery, Wollongong and member Marks’ church where we were welcomed in a very warm fashion.

Sunday afternoon saw us at Marks’ place where bible study and teaching took place. This time was led by Melbourne member Steve and close friend David (from Sydney). During this time we were all blessed and gained a better understanding of who we were in Christ. All present considered this time the highlite of the visit.

A special thanks goes to Mario (Regional Elder Aus/NZ) and Mark (Sydney) for putting us up and catering for all our needs during our stay. Also to Steve (Melb) for making the trip up to Sydney and sharing with us.

Most thanks goes to our Lord for keeping us all safe while on the road!

Speedweek Downunder!

Mid March 2012 saw Bikers for Christ members attend “Speedweek Downunder” at Willowbank in Queensland. This was a family friendly weekend with the main focus on biker related events and displays.

We were blessed by the attendance of Regional Elder (Aust/NZ) Mario Grech who rode the 2000+ kilometer return trip in interesting weather to camp with us (thanks Muzz).

The weekend was also special as Mario announced Brian (life of) Smith as our Elder and presented Brian with his Elder patch. This was followed by a Spiritual time of prayer support for Brian (and wife Jenny). It was an uplifting time for all!
